Caring for Your Skin After a Medical Dermaroller® Procedure
Immediately after your Medical Dermaroller® procedure, do not take any anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, Motrin or Advil. These agents will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical and responsible for your skin rejuvenation. Follow these simple steps:
Day of procedure:
No lotions, makeup or other topical products on your face before your procedure. After your procedure your medical provider may apply a lipopeptide booster, skin moisturizer, and sun screen. You may clean your face with a gentle cleanser before bed.
Day 1:
On the next day, you may clean your face as usual and apply makeup, lotions and other topical products as usual. Stay away from exfoliants or glycolic acids that are present is cleaners as these can make your skin very dry after the procedure. Be sure to use an approved SPF30 or greater sunscreen!
Days 2-7:
Within two (2) days following your Medical Dermaroller® procedure, you will notice skin dryness and flaking. This is due to an increased turnover of skin cells. During this period, you may apply your regular skin moisturizer. Follow the instructions given to you by your medical professional.
If your medical professional used the roller around the eyes, you may have a little micro bruising that may exist for three or four days. This can easily be covered with makeup.
Days later, your skin will start shedding. These are skin layers that would regularly shed a week later, but the Dermaroller® brings this skin to the surface sooner. During this temporary process, your skin will shed and be dry.
Days 7+:
A week after the Medical Dermaroller® procedure, most patients notice that their skin is smoother and more radiant.
At this time, you can start using the home Dermaroller C8® and/or Dermaroller Beauty Mouse®.
Remember, depending on your overall health, hormonal and nutritional status, your results will vary. Please be patient. It takes time for your skin to mature before you begin seeing results. You may see results as soon as two (2) weeks and as long as 6-8 weeks after your medical procedure.
Sometimes, using the Derma-Stamp® on severe scars may cause the scars to worsen before they improve. This is normal as your skin needs to "fill in" the scar.
For optimal results, be sure to schedule at least three Medical Dermaroller® treatment sessions.
When to use the home roller models
One (1) week after your Medical Dermaroller® procedure, you may start using your Home Dermaroller C8® or Beauty Mouse®. Start by using the home rollers every 2-3 days at night.
For better results, you can also use the Dermaroller® Collagen Booster Home Kit.
Why should I use a home roller after a Medical Dermaroller® procedure?
We suggest using a home roller because it tricks your body into believing it's receiving another Medical Dermaroller® treatment. This triggers your skin to produce more growth factors and collagen in the area(s) rolled. In turn, this increases the effectiveness of your treatment and maximizes the results from your medical treatment.
| Please remember that the better your overall health, hormonal and nutritional status, the better your results from any therapeutic procedures. |
IMPORTANT NOTE
Always use the specially designed Dermaroller® roller cleaner that comes with the home devices. This cleaner is not a sterilizer, It's designed to break down the proteins and oils that gather on your roller after each use. Rubbing alcohol alone does not sterilize a roller or break down skin proteins. Rubbing alcohol can also ruin the integrity of the fine micro-needles.
This product is for a single user. It is recommended that none of the Dermaroller® Home products be shared. Always spray and clean the Dermaroller C8® and Beauty Mouse® after every use.
The needles of the Dermaroller C8® improve the epidermal thickness but they are too short to induce new collagen formations in deeper dermal layers. New collagen formation (CIT) can only be achieved with a Medical Dermaroller® model. Please consult your medical professional for detailed information about Medical Dermaroller® procedures.
